I wanted to write this article as a follow-up or add-on to my “How You Can Get Rich Quick” article I put up last week. My idea for this is to try and figure out why we, as humans, fall for Ponzi schemes. I have a ton of questions and can only think of a few things that can explain why people jump into such schemes.

You might love those late night infomercials telling you that if you buy their book or course, they will show you how to make so much money that it will be mind boggling. I have been working hard on building my emergency fund, so I figured I would finally cash in my coins. I have slowly built up my coins by just adding them into a large wine bottle (a really large bottle) over time. I didn’t pay attention to how many coins I have collected over the years, but I think the amount is getting pretty substantial. My personal debt story begins the same as many people’s does, with one credit card and the feeling of freedom on the horizon. I got my first credit card during my freshman year in college. I was working at the time, but didn’t earn much. I had enough to pay for gas and go out when I wanted to eat something that was not made during a creative cafeteria night.
